Why a payroll product
We built payroll inside SeroBooks first, because accounting customers kept asking why their payroll lived in a second product with a second bill. Building it meant loading thirteen provinces' and territories' employment standards one statute at a time, reconciling every deduction against the CRA's own calculator, and producing year-end files that validate against the government's schema.
Plenty of businesses want exactly that and nothing else — no inventory, no invoicing, just people paid correctly. SeroPayroll is that engine on its own, priced by the people you pay.
How we write about it
Every claim on this site traces to what the product does today. Where something is not built yet — direct deposit, RL-1 electronic transmission, the employee app — the page says so. Software that pays people should be honest about its edges.
