Payroll for every province.
Right to the cent.

SeroPayroll runs Canadian payroll the way each statute writes it — CPP, EI and income tax, vacation pay, statutory holidays and overtime for all 13 provinces and territories — then files the remittances, T4s and Records of Employment from the pay you actually ran.

a pay run reaches the ledger — never twice
How a pay run works

Four stages. Four decisions a person makes.

Nothing moves money on its own. Each stage shows what it will do before it does it, and a posted run is corrected by reversal — never quietly edited.

01

Calculate

Hours from the clock, rates from the employee record, deductions from the statute. Every line shown before anything is final.

02

Approve

A person with the permission looks it over and approves. Preparing and approving can be two different people.

03

Post

The run reaches the ledger once — and refuses to land twice. Remittances and year-end read from here.

04

Settle

Record the money leaving: cheques printed, payments made. A mistake is reversed, never edited.

Thirteen rulebooks

Employment standards aren't national.
Neither is SeroPayroll.

Holidays, vacation pay and overtime are provincial law, and they differ in ways that change a paycheque. Each jurisdiction is loaded from its own statute — not copied from Ontario and hoped for.

Filing & compliance

Files that validate before they leave.

Remittances on the CRA's own calendar, a PIER review before the CRA runs one, Records of Employment with the five-day deadline tracked, and T4 and T4A returns checked against the CRA's published schema before you download them. Where a filing isn't built yet, we say so.

Honest numbers, or no numbers.

REV

Reverse, never edit

A posted run is corrected by reversal and a revised run. Nothing is edited or deleted, and a period can never be paid twice.

0≠?

Unknown is not zero

A balance or levy that cannot be worked out is shown as unknown. The software refuses rather than printing a confident $0.

SIN

Masked by default

A SIN appears in full only where the law needs it — on the filing — and as the last digits everywhere else.

ROLE

Server-enforced permissions

Who can prepare, approve and post is enforced on the server — a button you cannot see is a request the server refuses.

DATA

Rates are data, not code

A new tax year is loaded, not programmed. Last year still recalculates exactly the way it was paid.

CRA

Checked against the CRA

Deductions reconciled to the CRA's own calculator; electronic returns validated against the government's schema before download.

Pay stubs, T4s, the time clock and time-off requests on their own phone — with direct-deposit changes protected against fraud. Not released yet; here is what it will do.

Frequently asked questions

How much does SeroPayroll cost?

Four plans by headcount, in US dollars: up to 10 employees $25 a month, 11 to 50 $50, 51 to 100 $100, and 101 to 500 $249. Annual billing is ten months for twelve. Every plan has every feature and starts with a 14-day free trial — a card starts it, nothing is charged until the trial ends.

Does it really cover every province?

Yes. Statutory holiday calendars, vacation-pay brackets and overtime rules are loaded for all 13 provinces and territories, each from its own statute. Québec runs as its own regime with QPP, QPIP and RL-1 slips. WCB ceilings and employer health taxes are loaded for every board and province that has one.

Can I pay by direct deposit?

Not yet. The Canadian Payments Association 005 bank file is on the roadmap and SeroPayroll will not guess at one. Today you print cheques or pay through your bank, and record the payment in the run.

Can my employees see their pay stubs online?

Stubs are PDFs you email or print today. An employee app — pay stubs, T4s, time clock and time off on the phone — is in development and not released yet.

Do employees need a login?

No. Employees who are only paid do not need a login and do not use a seat. Logins are for the people who run payroll — each plan includes several.

Can my accountant run it for me?

Yes. Payroll screens are permissions like everything else, so an accountant with the right role can prepare, approve and post runs for you.

I already use SeroBooks. Do I need this?

SeroBooks Pro already includes payroll in the same ledger as your books. SeroPayroll is for businesses that want payroll on its own.
